What Is It Really

What does it mean?
Does it mean
Holiday spirit?
We can all be happy and jolly
We can all be nice
But, what does it really mean?
Deep down inside
What does Christmas mean?
Getting presents
No, Christmas means giving not receiving
Christmas means giving other people presents
That doesn’t seem right
You can’t buy
good fortune, happiness or Christmas spirit
Isn’t that what you’re doing
If you could buy it
what would it be?
money?
How can you buy money?
No, it just isn’t right
I’m being a Grinch
And if you think
all the things I’ve said are right
the things about getting presents and money
you’re a Grinch too
Christmas means
love
being together
with family
and friends
Everyone eating together
warm, dry, full, cheerful
under one roof
That’s the best Christmas present yet
Being
warm
dry
full to the rim of delicious food
Covered in love
by people where love grows together
like a bond
to hold us all together
I thought so much
For so long
It is now time for bed
After all that thinking
Something paid off
I now know
What Christmas means
What it’s really about
FamilyIt’s really all mental

Juice

There's
orange juice
and apple juice
strawberry
blueberry
very berry
cherry
But my favorite is
Coke

Vultures

The vultures slowly circled the corn field
After about 2 circles she/he would find another patch of
Sky?
Land?
Which one was she/he circling exactly?
I've noticed vultures always  circle in groups
Why? What for?
For protection, maybe
company, maybe
What is it that vultures are always looking for anyway?
Oh yeah,
Meat
Dead meat

Rolly Polly

I put my picnic blanket down
In the middle of
Nowhere
No trees no plants
Just grass
Green grass everywhere
No more than 3 inches tall
All I had in my sight was:
some little ants
3 grasshoppers
3 butterflys
a flock of geese soaring over me
Switching positions
And a single rolly polly
climbing over my blanket
I carefully picked him up
I let him climb up all over my arms and legs
I gently let him go
I let go because nature is not ours to keep locked up
If so he'll die
He'll die from his loss of nature
I came into his territory
They've never set a foot in ours

Confusion

Pink
The color of mattresses
Purple
The color of pink
Blue
The color of oulgie
Black
The color of light
Orange
The color of the solar system
Why, that doesn't seem right!

Fill Up My Notebook?

I need to fill up my notebook for school
Well here goes nothing
fjsdkljosdignsdfsdsdklfjsklfjsklfljsl
Ok, I didn't need to do that
But it was fun

My Aunt A Witch

I hate my aunt
She is so mean
Maybe she's a witch!
Now,
How do I find out
And come back..
human?

Big Dress

My dress is too big
It makes a V down to my belly button
It falls beneath my feet
It's "short" sleeves fall over my wrists
Depending on how you look at it
It either makes me look
Really fat or really skinny
Maybe it's my moms

Flower Azul

Yo stared at the flower azul
It dizzaled mis ojos
Amazing
Fasinante
Beautiful
Fanstasico
Pequiño
Delicate
There was only uno
Oh why no more
More of those flowers lindas
Maybe if there were more
When I went to el cielo
It would never be as good
As amazing as this unica
Flower azul

My Poem Like This

My first poem was kind of
Dumb, silly, wierd
It went like this:
I wrote a poem and it went like this
Why do all my poems start like this?

Tears in my Notebook

My notebook ripped
Straight in half
One tear turned into two
Two turned into a lot
Each  page has a tear
Each page has torn out of my notebook
No more notebook
Each page went its own way
Like it didn't like to be bound
The binding of string that held them together
Why?
I can't say
But I can see
Everyone has her own life
Eventually we have to separate
Because individuals
Maybe papers and notebooks do too
Maybe. I can't say

I'm Moving Tomorrow

I'm moving tomorrow
I never have
What will it be like?
Is it hard?
I guess I'll find out 'cause
I'm moving
 Tomorrow

Don't Go

Never go to another country in the summer
Especially July
You'll miss the fireworks
The fireworks lighting up the sky
In different colors like a disco ball
You'll miss the food, your family, and friends
You'll miss the excitement
You'll miss the experience,
The adventure
You'll miss the 4th of July
Like me
I've
      never
            seen
                    it

My Shadow

That is my shadow I see
The reflection of me with my glasses on;
Writing, reading, drawing
What am I doing now?
A shadow is a reflection that's colored in
A shadow only happens in the night
But with light

Perfect Bowl of Soup

I am lookin' for
the perfect bowl of soup
The one with tender and big noodles;
The one with just the right amount of meat chunks;
The one with onions and carrots, cabbage, celery, everything;
I found the perfect bowl of soup
For me

Yummy Rock Soup

I started to make rock soup
And just like that old lady in the story
I slowly added onions and peppers
carrots and cabbage
Until I had the most delicious soup
You ever had in your sight
Maybe I should rename it
Yummy Soup.

Rain

I watch as the rain falls
Each individual drop falls alone slowly
Descending from the sky
Drop-drop-drop
The rain comes faster and harder
Until all I can see is a blur
And all I can hear is pounding.

My Free Phone?

I got a phone for Christmas last year.
They are overrated.
I can't call anybody
'Cause what I didn't realize when I asked for it
Was,
I had to pay for it.

No Sunburn

There was a hat sitting on the chair
Over there,
all alone.
So I grabbed it and put it on
I went to play
Out in that sun
And because of that hat
I didn't get sunburned

A Little Part of Nature

Pink flowers;
Orange flowers;
Flowers of every kind
Plants and trees
Everywhere
Big and small
All of these from just
Little seeds
Little seeds that grow
Grow tall and strong
Tall, strong and beautiful
That's nature
but only part of it.

A Haiku for my Dad

My dad likes haikus
So I make one for you now
I love you daddy.

Maple Syrup

Maple syrup you can put on your
Pancakes and waffles;
breakfeast
Apples and bananas;
fruit
Even in your salad dressing
Maple syrup you can put on anything
Yum!

Dream With The Star And The Angle

My daddy left on a business trip
Oh why can't he work from home!
But then before I went to bed that night I heard a beep
A new text message
"dream with the star and the angle"
Tonight I will because my daddy told me to
Tonight I will dream with the stars and the angles
Good night

River To The Sea

I live at the end of a wavy river
The river that overflows with rain
All that overflowing created a pond
Then after my time, a lake
Finally a sea
A sea of fish of life
my granddaughters home
For maybe I did not mention
I am a bass a swift shiny bass
That once lived in that wavy river

Repunzul

Long, wavy, blond hair
When I look at you
and your blue eyes
I think of Repunzul

16th Anniversary

Happy anniversary
Do not forget it
Never
Especially if its your 16th anniversary
It's like a birthday
Important
Never forget
Just a hug; kiss; phone call
Doesn't have to be a diamond
Just a hug; kiss; phone call
Never forget

Far Away Mother

Mother
How long has it been since I have seen you?
A lot of weeks
I miss you so ;
But because can not see you doesn't mean I do not carry you in
My heart

Be Different

You do your flips and turns
summersaults and jumps
sometimes you'll even jump
but why don't you try something new like,
A dance;
Right there
Be surprising
Still flipping and turning
Still running and jumping
But be different

That Doll

That doll
That doll you always carry
Why?
Is it because if you let go your love will slowly part
Your love will slowly disseapear
Dissinagrate
Forever
Don't worry,
As long as you may part
That doll will never forget you
As you may forget them
For dolls will always love ones who have once held them, warmed them;
Loved them

Love Poem

What is love?
I don't think the smartest and even most succesful scincetist knows the answer to that question
I don't know the answer to that question
But i do have a poem
Love is happiness
not everyone can love
But, at the same time it doesn't take much effort to
You can love without even thinking about it
There are different types of love too
love for your mom and dad
love for your family and friends
love for a pet
love for a hobby
Love can also be in sadness
love for smeone who has passed before you
Love is amazing, beatiful, clear, wow,
Sometimes also
Heart breaking

My Letter Crisis

I sent a letter to grandma
It never got there
Is the mailman mad at me?
I sent another letter to grandma
It never got there
Why? What did I do wrong?
Maybe I forgot to put it in the mailbox
Again

The Tortoise

The tortoise won the race
This time it wasn't because the hare got tiried and took a nap
This time he won because he had confiedence
But not the kind of confidence his opponent had- i will win because the tortoise is so slow- Confidence in himself
Trust
I can do it
I can win

Hope for the Miracle Flower

 I froze
The flower I had in my sight right this moment
The flower I'd been looking for
the most beautiful
the most delicate
the perfect shad of maroon
the shape of a diamond star
the size of my little baby's fist
the texture of beauty;
of the softest skin,
of the softest blanket of the roughest rock
I stood there looking at the miracle
God had made
Not daring to cut it, not daring to even touch it
Maybe a little hummingbird or bee,
Maybe even a butterfluy
will pollante it carrying the seeds
spreading them
Maybe if we were all silent
Maybe if we all prayed, all loved
another miracle would be born
Hope
 sprinkled with
Faith
  covered in
Love
Will make another miracle happen
I hope

War

Why do we make war and not peace?
War is death
War is nothing, meaningless
The only words of war are
Perish - Die - Surrender - Lose - Kill
In war you never win
Why do we send these innocent young men
to war;
To what? to die?
You don't learn anything in war
you are worse off then you come
back home than when you left
War is meaningless, cruel
War is death

Peace is another thing
Another decision if we all chose
Peace and love
Forgot war and hate
We could make another world
another dimension
Other people, new minds
We could make
heaven

Don't be Afraid to Change

I need to write a poem for class
How do I do it?
Think of a subject; think of an adjective
Get an idea in your head
Write - let the pencil do the writing, just think
Don't overthink, just write
Then double check, don't be afraid to add to
subract
Don't be afraid to  exaggerate  fix  change it.

Shakespeare King

I thee command
you now fight
in this night
tonight
Till the end

Without Adjectives

Adjectives,
Who invented adjectives?
Whoever did:
I love them
Without adjectives there would be no breathtaking poems
Without adjectives there would be no interesting stories
Without adjectives there would be no fascinating plays
Without adjectives...
Life would be a blob

The First Thing

The first thing
I see when I go to the beach
are the palm trees
then the rocks and sand
and finallly the sea itself
The first thing I smell when I go to the beach
is the fish
then the salt
The first thing I do when I get to the beach is
kick off my sandles and
Run, run, run
Till the water is waist high
The last thing I do  when I go to the beach is smile

Mango

Sweet and juicy
Green, yellow to
Deep orange
One bite the juice runs down my chin
I lick it
My favorite part

Beginning, Middle, End

Poems must have a beginning;
there it is.
Poems must have a middle;
got it.
Poems must have an ending.
Now, where can I start?

Shhh!

Shh! Shh! Shh!
I think if thee opens thy mouth again thee will automatically say, "Shh!"
Shh: a chicken eating all that left of my dinner
Shh: a chicken pooping on the newly mopped floor
Shh: a chicken pecking at my clean towel
Shh this "shh" was to shut-up
Peek-peek; back-back; cackle-doodle-do!
I only like chickens when they're in my soup

The Sky

The sky is blue
The sky is night
The sky is always they above us
Shielding us
Protecting us
From what?
You'll have to ask
From meteors
Maybe; rain or snow
No wait it can't
'Cause the sky's above it all

This Is The Life Of A Cow

This is the life of a cow
Eat grass
Moo, Moo
Sleep
Chew cud
Moo, moo
Be milked
Moo, moo
That is the life of a cow

Writing Isn't Homework

Most people look at writing as homework
Some people don't
I am one of those persons
I look at writing as a gift
A gift of enchantment
People who can write stories are story tellers
People who can write plays are actors
People who can write poems are more than poetic
They are my kings and
My queens
They are my role models
They are my dream
Not my
homework

Techno

Technology is our future
Whether we want it to be or not
Here it comes

Sun

What is it that's burning my eyes?
Your beauty or your substance?
Both or your shine?

Mysterious Photos

The little girl looked at a photo from 1967
She looked at a photo from yesterday
Why are they both black and white
She asked her father
And her father replied, “Why I see we must take a trip to the zoo soon.”

How Do Your Eyes?

Oh cat oh cat how do you do it?
Your eyes so bright so green
In the black night
With only my dim little flash light

Pink

You come in so many different shades
Sometimes so faded almost white
Other times so deep and hot it burns me to look at you

Voice of the Trees

I think the trees whisper to each other
No I know the trees whisper to each other
Most people hear a rustle in the wind but not I
I hear the wipers
I hear the legends they share
Stand very still and you could hear it to
The trees have all the secrets
All the secrets all your secrets too
Do not fear for the trees are good secret keepers
They never tell a living soul say I
But who knows I only know the rumors the legends the stories not a secret I've heard
Not even my own
If you want to hear the stories they tell
Stand very still and quiet
Much patience it takes
But don't give up
Cause right before you give up you'll hear it

A Flower Bloom

All I ask is one wish
One wish that is all
That I see a flower bloom
I do not ask for riches
Gold nor silver
Not even a morsel of food nor water
All I ask is one wish
To see a flower bloom
Any kind is fine with me
May I see a flower bloom
May I die the moment after
My only wish to see a flower bloom

The Miraculous Meadow

I feel like a prairie dog standing here in the middle of the meadow
Surrounded by blooming flowers and tall grass
Tall grass everywhere
The height of my shoulder
Little ants scamper below me
Large birds soar above me
What and odd sight I saw here in the middle of the meadow
You would never guess so I tell you now
Nothing but a large and beautiful oak tree
And in this tree:
Seven nests, a family of squirrels, lots and lots of bugs
And a single crystal which now holds a fat little caterpillar but with soon disappear and it's place let there be a beautiful monarch
Which will soar with the birds over this miraculous meadow

Yellow

Tonight not a star in sight nor a moon only those of real enhancement or real love, compassion or real desire
Can see thou moon tonight
Only those with real desire can see thou moon tonight

Desire

Tonight not a star in sight nor a moon only those of real enhancement or real love, compassion or real desire
Can see thou moon tonight
Only those with real desire can see thou moon tonight

Our Moon

The dear moon
The dear moon tonight
Is bright
We can see its shape
But oh the dim light that circles you tonight
What bright you shine
Even without thus a star in thou sky
What bright
Your brilliance is blinding
I think there be an enhancement of beauty
Our moon tonight shines bright
Our marvelous moon tonight shines bright

Rose

Your petals fall to the ground
like parachutes from a plane
But more gentle and calmly
I love the way you look when you first bloom
The way you curl out so gentle and how your color is the perfect shade
I love the way you smell
But what I don't like is
Your security

Mother

I love the way you dress you see
And the way you sing and dance
And the way you hug me when I'm sad or cold
And I love the way you are
And the fact that you're my mother
